300 Premier League appearances
Petr joined the 300 club after yesterday's successful Premier League game against Cardiff. The Blues won 4-1.
"Three hundred caps in what is possibly the best football league in the world is a real honour," stated Petr. His landmark appearance was given a great amount of attention by journalists after the match. "Supposedly I'm only the tenth foreigner to have reached this number and I consider that a major achievement," said Petr, who decided to keep his jersey as a souvenir.
He was not overly disappointed by the fact that he did not manage to keep a clean sheet. "A clean sheet might have been a sort of icing on the cake, but in my opinion it's better to have won 4-1 than tie 0-0. For me personally it was a good game and I made sure I'd do all I was expected to do in crucial situations."
Chelsea did not have the best entrance to the game as they allowed Cardiff to take the lead just a few minutes into the match. "The start wasn't perfect, but we managed to equalise and we were definitely the better team in the second half. The outcome was pretty much clear once we added another goal. It's convenient to have won this, all the more due to the fact that both Manchester United and Liverpool lost points on us," added Petr who will next travel to Germany for a Champions League match with Schalke.
