„We knew Manchester City had lost and at half-time we found out that so had Tottenham. At that point we were already in the lead by a goal and we knew we had to win. We were looking to decide the outcome as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary drama at the end. Eden Hazard's goal raised the score to 2-0 and relief ensued. Our opponent had a couple of chances here but we had the luxury of knowing the odds were on our side. We had plenty of chances ourselves, too," said Petr.
"The squad's overall performance was great. We obtained vital points, walked away with a clean sheet and moved up in the table in front of Tottenham. On top of that we closed in on the second place and we can generally be happy with the way things have worked out," added Petr before his departure for a representation meeting.
It was Frank Lampard who scored the first goal in the 19. minute, and this was already his 200th goal for the Blues. Now he merely needs two more to break the club record. "The fact that he as a midfielder scored 200 goals for a club of such prestige speaks for itself. Hats off to him. I'm really glad he managed to get this far, especially in a game against West Ham which is where he started out. It is truly well deserved and I'm sure the number will only keep growing and a new club record will have been set by the end of the season." praised Petr.
