A good start under a new manager

"We'd had a tough week. They'd just replaced the manager and we had to face such a strong opponent right away. We wanted to win, but a point will do. We're playing Fulham this Wednesday at Stamford Bridge, so we've got to keep it up."

The Blues have not had much time to grow accustomed to their new manager. "In two days we swiftly got familiar with what he expected from us. He shared some of his ideas with us and changed the formation a little, but any major changes would require much more time than we have right now. We've got two more days of preparations ahead of us and I'm sure it'll be fine," said Petr.

The new manager did not exactly receive a warm welcome at Stamford Bridge. The fans would not forget some of the comments Benitez had made on Chelsea's account when he was still coaching Liverpool. Therefore his first appearance was accompanied by large amounts of whistling and booing.

"You can't change the past, people tend to remember stuff like that. We all know what kind of rivalry there was when we was coaching Liverpool, but now he's on our side. He has come to us to help us out with winning the trophy. Every manager we've had got a chance to prove himself and so should Benitez. Of course it all depends on how we'll end up performing, but I do believe we'll manage to get back on a winning streak," added Petr.
