The Gunners had a poor start to the game, having incurred two goals by the 13th minute. First, Kaboul managed to score from a free kick after his strike got deflected by Ramsey. Prior to the second goal, Petr liquidated Capoue’s challenge in a sensational fashion, however the ball rebounded towards Deeney, unattended, who then had the entire Arsenal goal to himself.
“We started off really badly and they punished us for it. They scored their first goal after a deflection and that gave them confidence. Watford played spectacularly and we do need to admit they were the better team,” admitted Petr, who had performed an incredible save right before the interval and thus averted what could have been a disaster.
“We clearly had the upper hand in the second half, but unfortunately we were only able to gain one goal from who knows how many scoring opportunities. It’s a loss which hurts,” added Petr.
