A superb beginning; three points and a clean sheet
Petr and his team struck the right note when they beat Hull 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in the first round of the new season of Premier League.
"It's great to have started this way. The three points are the most important of all, with the clean sheet being a pretty nice bonus," said Petr after the match. "Especially he first half was a successful one for us on all fronts. We had tons of scoring opportunities and we scored goals, although we could have added even more. The pace was excellent and we had everything under control. After the interval we started off a bit slower and Hull used that to go on the offensive. They certainly proved that their placement in the Premier League was no coincidence. They have a plenty of experienced players plus some pretty decent new signings," stated Petr.
The Blues could have gone in the lead in the 6. minute already, had Lampard scored from a penalty kick. "We all make mistakes… Actually you could really tell how experienced he is, since he didn't let it distract him and he went on to score a beautiful goal from a free kick," added Petr. Chelsea's owner Roman Abramovich personally wished the players good luck for the new season prior to kick-off. "He also congratulated us after the game in the changing rooms," revealed Petr. Chelsea are now to face Aston Villa at home this Wednesday.
