A ten-man loss

The German Arsenal sweeper was sent off in the 18th minute after fouling Costa who was racing clear. And it was none other than Costa who scored the winner in the 23rd minute. The Gunners fought tooth and nail and managed to create their own scoring opportunities, however they still failed to equalise. This means that they have not beaten Chelsea for the ninth time in a row.

"Of course we're disappointed by the results. The match was strongly influenced by the red card which gave Chelsea an advantage. But we played quite well with ten men and were quite ironically the better team at various moments. We demonstrated character, got in chances, and yet lacked a little bit of luck and composure," Petr evaluated the game.

The Gunners are now in the third spot of the table, three points behind leading Leicester. Second Manchester CIty holds the same amount of points as Arsenal. "There's loads of time left and so there's a lot of points out there yet. So on we go. We're still in a pretty favourable position," added Petr.
