An acceptable draw and hats off to Sir Alex
Chelsea drew 2-2 in the London derby with Tottenham. Petr regrets conceding during the last ten minutes of the match, however he definitely does not perceive the result as an irredeemable setback.
"We're still three points ahead of Tottenham and there are two rounds to go. We just need to win once to secure a place in the Champions League. It was a fairly equal game but we could have beaten them, had we not panicked every time we got the upper hand. Too bad we we couldn't maintain the lead for ten minutes. Nevertheless one point is better than a poke in the eye and I'm confident we'll beat Aston Villa and be all set for next season," stated Petr.
Right after the match he had a meeting with representatives from Audi, one of Chelsea's sponsors. "They picked me as their ambassador and thus I drive an Audi and attend some of their venues every now and again. This time I spent about two hours with them. We talked about the game, took some pictures and I handed out a couple of autographs," he revealed.
Petr did not forget to address Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement. "Sir Alex deserves, at the very least, as much respect as the club's best players. His contributions were truly unprecedented and they will not be forgotten," said Petr.
"As far as the length and successes of his career in a single club is concerned, he will be incredibly difficult to trump. I'd hate to be in his successor's shoes because the expectations couldn't be higher. I deem Ferguson to be the most successful manager in the history of football. He deserves great respect and he will be missed in the world of football," admitted Petr.
"I was pretty surprised when I heard he had decided to quit in the peak. To win the title, what else could you wish for... It seemed like he would carry on for a bit longer but I guess it'd been a long time coming. To finish on the very top, as he has, is indeed admirable.
