An outstanding turnaround

"Given the initial development of the game, this is almost like a win for us. I think this was a stylish way to celebrate the anniversary. Chelsea got a huge match for its 'birthday' and I'm glad we're still within reach of the trophy," said Petr after the game.
The beginning of the match did not go according to plan for Chelsea and Petr was one of the culprits for the first goal. "I was going to go after that cross but it was really windy and the ball lost its speed unexpectedly. It was clear I wouldn't be able to reach it and I also assumed it wouldn't get to Hernandez either. But unfortunately that it did and he used the fact that I was in a bad position. In any case, I don't mean to make excuses. It was a cheap goal and regardless of the wind, I should have tried to get back faster. It was definitely my fault."
Chelsea nevertheless managed to recover from the initial shock. "We needed to score in order to make the game more dramatic, which in the end we did. After the break we played really well and soon got in a well deserved equaliser. Our substitutes had a particularly uplifting influence on our play, mainly Eden Harard who was just fantastic. In the very end we even wound up squandering a chance to decide the game in our favour, but we can be satisfied anyway. To find yourself losing 0-2 against Man U at one point and ultimately still pull off a draw is indeed a success. We're still in the game and today's performance surely boosted our morale for whatever's ahead of us."
