An unnecessary draw in Liverpool and congratulations to Pilsen
The Blues almost earned three points in Liverpool. Petr, Chelsea's captain, was disappointed by his team's failure to maintain the 2-1 lead.
Liverpool scored the equaliser about 40 seconds after the six minutes of extra time had run out, but Petr did not wish to comment on it. "We should kept playing. We were doing fine all the way up till the last moment, which is when we conceded," said Petr, who had once again demonstrated world-class skill.
"In the first half we got in the lead and but for one goal chance which I saved, we didn't really let them have the ball for long. After the interval they started out way stronger, but we still managed not to yield. Then we scored again, and it's a shame it didn't stay that way," Petr regretted the draw.
Chelsea is now in the fourth spot of the table; one point behind Arsenal and one ahead of Tottenham. "On the other hand, we've played less games than Arsenal and we've yet to play Tottenham. This means that this derby will be even more of a big deal than before. I'm sure we'll do great," added Petr.
The Blues might have had bad luck this time, however Petr was ecstatic when he found out that his favourite ice-hockey team from Pilsen, which is where Petr was born, had won the national league. "Hats off and congratulations to them, this is incredibly exciting. The fact that Martin Straka would score the winner must have been written in the stars..."
