An Unnecessary Loss

The Blues lost 3 points in Swansea after they failed to maintain their 1-0 lead and their opponent managed to score in the 88th minute. As a result, Chelsea simultaneously lost their first place in the Premier League table to Manchester United.

“There's nothing we can do, they're winning by a point. Things happen fast in football. A week ago we were in the lead by four points, but not any more. For the first time they've managed to take our top spot but it's no big deal. The season's long enough; there's quite a few games still in front of us and one draw in an away game really is no tragedy,” said Petr, the Blues' captain.

Moses got Chelsea in the lead, however 2 minutes from time Hernandez managed to obtain a point for Swansea with a shot from 16 metres. “We should have dealt with it more efficiently. Unfortunately, no one crossed Hernandez's path. I couldn't see anything at all; there were several players standing in front of me. On top of that, the shot landed right next to the post. I'm sorry we let the opponent score considering we were so close to winning. After that, there wasn't much time left to try and add another goal,” stated Petr.
During the second half the players had to endure a relatively severe hail storm. “The hailstones were quite huge which didn't really bother me, after all I did have fairly good head protection already,” added Petr with a smile.
