Another loss, another injuries…

Petr is going to have to wait before he matches the Premier League clean sheet record. Arsenal drew 1-1 with Norwich today and failed to win for the third time in the row in the League. Petr’s performance was nevertheless admirable and it was also thanks to him that the Gunners left for London with a point.

His most important save came in the 70th minute when he reflexively kept out his teammate Gabriel’s inadvertent header, which would otherwise have landed right next to the post. He received great praise for his preparedness.

“It was probably the best save I’d seen all season. Unbelievable reflexes,” commented former Norwich defender Greg Downs. “I didn’t see much of the header but was luckily able to jump in in time. I didn’t even see whose header it was in the first place,” Petr explained.

The Gunners took the lead after Özil’s challenge, however the hosts managed to equalise by the end of the first half. “We had the game under control for the first 35 minutes but their goal gave them a lot of confidence. We incurred a some other injuries in the second half and didn’t wind up having enough energy to score a winner," Petr evaluated the team’s performance.

The players injured were Koscielny (hip), Sánchez in the second half (thigh) and Cazorla (knee). These will be joining the already injured Arteta, Coquelin, Walcott, Welbeck, Wilshere and Rosicky. “Thanks to an unfortunate series of injuries we don’t get to rotate players much, which was definitely apparent today. We were a little out of breath the last fifteen minutes,” Petr added.
