Petr was nevertheless able to make several flawless saves before City finally broke through Chelsea's defences in the second half. Frank Lampard missed a penalty kick and the opponent responded with two goals. "We needed to win in order to stay within reach of the second place as well as to fend off those teams which had been catching up with us in the table. Unfortunately that didn't work out. It's a shame we had to walk away without a single point. Their first goal was crucial for the game's outcome. They could focus on the defensive while we were forced to try and break away. One of their counter-attacks sadly resulted into a second goal and from then on for them it was just a matter of keeping things under control," commented Petr on his team's performance.
