Derby ends in a draw

„I was quite preoccupied there. From a general point of view the match was an even one—both teams had their scoring opportunities. We had more of them in the second half and it’s too bad we didn’t use them. But seeing as we’d been losing and had to catch up, a draw is acceptable,” said Petr.

Gunners now find themselves second behind Manchester City. “It’s a shame we didn’t use their momentary hesitation to our advantage, but you’ve got to take one game at a time and also realise that a Tottenham derby is no joke. Admittedly, we were inches away from scoring a winner. In general, though, we can be happy with the result. We’re in the position we wanted to be in, meaning in a group of teams that are all title contenders,” Petr stated.

The Gunners goalkeeper is now to attend national team preparation matches with Serbia and Poland. “It’s going to be the last national team game of this year and it’d be nice to finish the year in style, since it is the year when we managed to qualify for the EURO,” he added.
