“It’s an extremely important win. We needed those three points to secure the first spot and get our greatest opponents under pressure. On top of that it was a really attractive derby for our fans and it was essential that we let provide them with a win to celebrate.” explained Petr.
“The 4-0 result seems pretty straightforward but Tottenham did put up quite the fight in the first half. We, on the other hand, couldn’t quite get our hands on them. Luckily we quickly picked it up after the interval. Tottenham eventually made a couple of mistakes that we punished them for. That first goal was enough to finally break them. Then we added another one, and with Tottenham missing a player we knew we had won. We retained full control over the game and Demba Ba actually managed to score another two,” stated Petr.
The Blues now possess a solid lead in the table 9 points ahead of their rival Manchester City, who can however still close the gap due to the fact that they are three matches behind. “If they win those then they’ll be back on top. They do have a better score so far. That way they’re still the League favourites. For now we’re just going to focus on ourselves and make sure we do our part well. Obviously we’ll try and hold on to the first spot for as long as we can and it’d be nice if it could even stay that way."
