Emirates Cup win and a wonderful reception by fans

„I'm happy my first game at home went peachy and most importantly id like to thank the fans for an amazing reception. This was the first time I was playing at Emirates Stadium as my home base and I'm glad it all worked out,“ said Petr after the game.

The sole goal of the match was scored in the 50th minute by Walcott. „For us this was a crucial test against a skilled opponent. You could tell they were slightly more in the groove of things and they made sure they proved our defense. We had some opportunities right in the first half but didn't use them. Luckily we managed to score soon after the interval and the game was decided,“ Petr described.

He was satisfied with his own performance. „There was a couple crosses and strikes and I saved what I was supposed to save. I'm mainly excited about the win as such. It may have been a preparatory tournament, but every trophy counts. It was an excellent practice round before Sunday's Community Shield,“ Petr added in respect of the upcoming match between the Gunners as the incumbent FA Cup holders and Chelsea, Petr's long term employer of 11 years, as the Premier League champion.
