Great work
After two subsequent losses, the Blues are now back on track in the Premier League. Chelsea beat West Ham United 3-0 at Upton Park, with Petr retaining a clean sheet.
“We lost five points in the previous two matches, which is why we couldn’t afford any other losses. It was essential that we put everything into it and we surely did. We needed the win in order to stay at the top of the table. It was actually one of the better games of the season as we were in control from kick-off until the final whistle. In fact, but for a single header I wasn’t very pre-occupied. We played really well and are happy with both our performance and the result. We didn’t squander our goal opportunities and never let our opponent take possession of the ball for an extended period of time,” stated Petr.
Frank Lampard was responsible for two of Chelsea’s goals. Ironically, it was at West Ham where he had set out to become a world-class footballer back in 2001. “These games are always tricky, although strangely enough he always seems to do quite well against West Ham, this time including. At first he scored from a penalty kick and then he also pulled his signature move and sent a ricocheted ball into West Ham’s goal,” added Petr.
