I hope we’ll be able to beat Manchester

Every time you faced Manchester United so far, you were fighting for the top of the table. As of now, however, they are seventh. Do you think that will change anything?
Not in the slightest. It’s still the same team and it really doesn’t matter where in the table they find themselves at the moment. Of course they they haven’t been doing as well as they would like, but as long as they start winning now they still stand a chance. Still, I’m sure we’ll end up putting even more distance between them and us. We need to follow up on our recent victories.
You are only playing at the weekend this week, same as the last. Isn’t that a little unusual now that you are used to a jam-packed schedule?
It’s really just these two weeks. It’s true that we’re used to a different frequency but it’s nice to have more time to practice for once. Our goalie-training was more demanding than usual. We got a lot done.
You broke Peter Bonetti’s clean sheet record in the last round. Did you give a lot of interviews in the foliowing days?
The entire week, actually. After all it was quite the occasion and all the media attention was to be anticipated. I really was pretty swamped.
New Czech national team coach Pavel Vrba is to attend the game. Are you looking forward to meeting him in person?
We’re supposed to have dinner with him, Tomas Rosicky, our manager and Association Football representatives after the match. It’s convenient to discuss certain things face to face instead of having to do it over the phone.
