Launch of Internet Auction to Help Charity

“I’ve been asked countless times about all kinds of charity cooperation, whether it be at home or by English or international organisations. For the future I decided to focus on activities in favour of the Pohyb bez pomoci charity, which has been functioning smoothly under the auspices of professor Pavel Kolář, and in which I have a lot of trust,” revealed Petr.

“Throughout my career I’ve gathered a collection of items which might make collectors quite happy, giving them an opportunity to contribute to a good cause in the process,” stated Petr, who is on the cover page of the 2017 Sport Invest calendar. He wasn’t able to take part in the launch ceremony himself as he was preoccupied with the Premier League game with Everton.

The auction will always take place in a weekly cycle, during the course of which three selected items will be offered for bidding. In the kick-off round, potential participants can look forward to bidding for drum sticks which Petr used while playing alongside Eddie Stoilow at the Rock for People festival, or an Arsenal jersey which Petr wore during the recent Veterans’ Day Arsenal/Tottenham duel.

Particularly avid fans may further appreciate the auctioning of the football boots which Petr wore in November’s match with Manchester United at Old Trafford. “I lost one of the studs during the very last minute,” Petr reminisces in the accompanying certificate, one of which he has handwritten in relation to each relic.

Already during the ceremonial launch at Prague casino Magic Planet Gold, Petr’s gloves from Arsenal's last Premier League game in the 2016/16 season were auctioned off. The sum of CZK 45,000, which will also be ascribed to the charity’s account, was supplemented by the proceeds (CZK 20,000) from the successful public auction of ice-hockey goalkeeper Petr Mrázek’s (Detroit) jersey.

Petr Čech has amassed a whole array of valuable relics throughout his career, and thus his fans can look forward to not only his football equipment (boots, jerseys, gloves, helmet) but also, for example, suits which he has in the past worn for key Chelsea games, etc.
