He was fully aware of the team’s bad shape. “This really did not go well. We left Basel enough time and space to gather up confidence right off the start and we kept struggling to regain control. When it looked like we were finally back on track our opponent scored,” said Petr.
He seemed somewhat displeased by the fact that his jubilee match went astray, his own splendid saves notwithstanding. “It was my 450th game for Chelsea and I really wanted it to be a win. Unfortunately that didn’t work out,” regretted Petr.
