"In my opinion he was the best player on the field. Given the fact that he was the youngest of all and this was his debut, he did a spectacular job. He didn't make mistakes and did everything he'd been asked to do. His performance was very uplifting for me," Petr commended the central midfielder, who shares a striking resemblance with the legendary Ruud Gullit. "He's been training with us for quite some time now and it would be a lie to say that no jokes have been made in that regard," admitted Petr behind-the-scenes.
He was relieved that Chelsea affirmed their status of favourites and dealt with the opponent with ease. "We were pretty prolific when it came to goal chances and scored from two of them. I'm glad we managed. The last thing we needed was a draw and a rematch," stated Petr in reference to Chelsea's unbelievably full schedule in the last weeks.
"I'm pretty sure we're the busiest team in Europe at the moment. It's necessary that we rotate the line-up and that the load be distributed evenly," noted Petr who is now nearing his fiftieth match of the season. "I'm fine for now. It's all about allowing yourself a while of rest and regeneration on a regular basis."
The Blues will travel to the Old Trafford stadium and face Manchester United in the quarter-finals. "It's going to be an exciting game. They've been doing well but I still believe it'll be us who advances within the reach of the trophy," added Petr.
