Petr becomes a part of PFA Team of the Year
Petr was selected to be a member of the very best squad of eleven in the Premier League which is voted on yearly by the players' association.
It was also Chelsea players Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard who made the All Stars team apart from Petr. Eden Hazard then went on to win the Best Young Player of the Year award, as well.
Petr performed 81 saves and managed to get 16 clean sheets in 34 matches this season. Last week, unfortunately, he sustained a knee injury in a Champions League game with Atlético Madrid and was forced to end this season rather prematurely.
„To be voted into the Team of the Season by your fellow professionals is always an honour and it makes me feel as though I've done a good job. There’s a lot of competition around,“ he explained. He had been last voted a member of the Premier League All Stars in 2005, after his first season at Chelsea.
PFA Team of the Year: Petr Čech (Chelsea) - Seamus Coleman (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Vincent Kompany (Manchester City), Luke Shaw (Southampton) - Yaya Toure (Manchester City), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Southampton) - Luis Suarez (Liverpool), Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool), Eden Hazard (Chelsea).
