Petr selected as the Goalkeeper of the Year

Chelsea reached the first Champion League Final last May and Petr spent an excellent season on the European stage. Big Pete beat off competition from Edwin van der Sar, Manuel Almunia, Manuel Neuer and Pepe Reina to accept the trophy from Peter Schmeichel.

"I expected Edwin van der Sar to win the prize. That is why I am pleasantly surprised," said Petr.

Blues achieved overall three individual rewards. John Terry won the Defender of the Year Award and Frank Lampard gained the Midfielder of the Year Award.
