He had last seen the team in action on Wednsday when they beat Barcelona 1-0 in the second leg of the quarter-final. “They were significantly better for from the beginning to the end. But for one goal opportunity Barcelona didn’t stand a chance and Atlético could easily have scored five goals. They’re especially lethal when playing at home.”
Chelsea last encountered the Madrid based team in summer 2012 in a UEFA Super Cup match between the Champions and Europa League winners. They lost 1-4 then. "It’s not something we like to reminisce about. We ended up scoring from our sole shot on target of the entire match while they had about ten opportunities. They absolutely thrashed us and I hope we learned our lesson,” stated Petr. 
He also recalls their mutual Champions League matches in 2009/10. “We won 4-0 at home but they were pretty dominant at first. Especially thanks to Forlán and Agüero. We scored from our attacks while they did not. We drew 2-2 in the away leg when Simeone wasn’t training them yet. Their gameplay has improved palpably since he took over,” added Petr.
