After Ramires' dismissal the Blues were forced to play with ten men for the entire length of extra time. "It was very difficult but we worked hard, defended well and even managed to score. We were a bit unlucky in the last couple of seconds, the ball rebounded to Martinez and he was in a good position to strike," regretted Petr. "It's always unfortunate to concede in the last seconds but generally I think it was a great game on both sides. Where the luck was on our side back in the Champions League final in 2012, it was on Bayern's side today," said Petr.
"We had the trophy within our reach, now we've got nothing. Still, I think we managed to demonstrate that we're ready to play anyone since Bayern is the current Champions League trophy holder and we put up a good fight against them," added Petr who had denied at least four incredible goal opportunities with sublime saves. He was very close to saving some of the penalty kicks, as well. "I was pretty close to saving Lahma's shot and I did manage to touch Shaquri's strike but I only deflected it sideways into the goal," he stated.
