Three points and a clean sheet against Hull

“It was important to reaffirm the fact that we were the favourites. We failed to do that in the last League game and couldn’t afford another loss. This way we’ve remained on the top three points ahead, since Manchester City won, too,” stated Petr.
“We started out really well and scored right away. Hull made sure they defended pretty diligently afterwards and it became tough to push through them. That’s why there wasn’t a whole lot of scoring opportunities. After the interval things were looking pretty similar. Hull was eventually forced to play in ten men and we responded with a quick goal. We could have added more, I guess, but somehow they always managed to block our attempts,” Petr evaluated the game.
He was happy with the three-point gain, the clean sheet, as well as the fact that he was able to start for the second time in a row. “Both games’ performances were good and I’m glad I got to feature in them. It’s always better to play regularly. We’ve got a Cup game we’ll see if I get to start again,” said Petr.
The Blues will face the second-division Derby County in the Capital One Cup quarterfinal. “Last year we played them in the FA Cup and it was a very tough game, though we did beat them 2-0. Derby has been doing pretty well and if it weren’t for today’s loss, they’d be leading the table. We’re not expecting it to be a walk in the park but we do want to qualify for the next phase,” added Petr.
