"We've stuck to Czech Christmas traditions for the whole time we've been in England. Admittedly we won't be having a Czech carp this time, but we'll just make a different fish. There will also be schnitzels, potato salad, lentils, soup with liver dumplings and, of course, Christmas confectionery," revealed Petr.
He himself took part in the preparations. "I decorated the tree with the kids and grandpa in Thursday and I helped finish the gingerbread, too. So I definitely contributed a little bit," said Petr.
Besides training, Petr partook in an event for young Arsenal fans called "junior Gunners". "It took place in our training center. There were lots of competitions for kids and we were at their disposal. They could take pictures with us or have us sign anything," stated Petr. "The team was split into two parts, where the other visited children in hospital. It felt really good to be able to conjure up a smile on their faces a couple days before Christmas," he added.
Arsenal have a relatively busy schedule towards the end of the year: on 26 December they will be playing WBA at home, on 1 January they will face Crystal Palace, once again at home, on the 3rd they are to play Bournemouth and then Preston in the FA Cup on the 7th.
"We mostly train in the morning, so I'll be able to enjoy most of Christmas Eve along with the family. On the day after we start even earlier because of my English teammates, so that they can make it home in time to open up presents and have Christmas lunch. In the evening we have a meet-up at the hotel. The same will go for the next match, which means we'll be spending New Year's Eve at the hotel, too," revealed Petr.
