Victory spreads warmth over frozen feet

"It's great we managed to hold them off and got 3 points out of it. Thanks to Manchester United's draw we're a bit nearer to the top spot once again. They might still be a little too far but we've got to keep on winning and mainly pay attention to ourselves. We should also be grateful to have put the others further behind us. Manchester City, who are second at the moment, won last Saturday and so I'm relieved we're keeping up with them," said Petr
He was particularly pleased with the team's performance in the first half. "We played really well, we scored twice and had the game under control. It seemed like we quit playing after the break and we allowed Arsenal to get into possession and score. We could have sealed the outcome with a couple of breakaways, but unfortunately that never worked out. We wound up fighting and defending till the very last second. From the positive point of view, at least we managed that as opposed to last time, when we lost our two-goal lead," admitted Petr. Arsenal may have failed to make enough of their corner-kicks during extra-time, however the suspense among Chelsea fans was still palpable. "I dealt with the corners pretty well but you never know who the ball might rebound to."
The match was accompanied by heavy snowfall. "My feet were absolutely freezing, that was the worst. They were extremely numb. I don't really mind snow as such, I'm used to playing in it from back home. It might have been a first for some of our guys, though," added Petr.
