Wigan + Portsmouth = 6 points
Chelsea have earned six Premier League points in four days after home 2-1 win against Wigan and hard 1-0 victory at Fratton Park.
PETR CECH saved from Pompey Sean Davis and David Nugent to keep the goalless score before Didier Drogba grabbed the winner on 79 minutes. The Blues preserved their 100% efficiency under Guus Hiddink even in the heavy rain pouring on the pitch at Portsmouth all the game.
"This is the old good Chelsea. We earned the victory in the horrible conditions with rain lashing the pitch and strong wind.
"We were patient all the game and we were waiting for the opportunity to decide the whole match," said the Czech goalie.
"Now it is all or nothing in every game. We play the FA Cup game at Coventry on Saturday and then the Champions League last 16 tie in Turin.
"These games are the ones where we have to succeed because there will be no chance for correction," added Big Pete.
Big Pete prooved his quality also twice before John Terry opener against Wigan who were the better side in the opening 20 minutes at Stamford Bridge. The Czech international first denied Schraner's chance and then stopped with his leg Figueroa's shot.
Wigan made it 1-1 on 82 minutes but Frank Lampard's last-gasp header put Chelsea again ahead in the injury time.
"The game was foolish, both teams had many chances to score," said the Chelsea stopper after the match.
"Wigan deserved the equaliser because they played really good but we deserved three points because we fought until the very end and prooved the winning will" appreciated Petr the team spirit of the Blues.
